Percy Pickwick – Amateurdetektiv und Pfadfinder

 
 
Percy Pickwick (in the original: Harold Wilberforce Clifton) is a British amateur detective and former colonel of MI-5. He is retired and divides his time between his hobbies and the investigations he is offered. These are either private individuals or his former colleagues from MI-5 or Scotland Yard. Pickwick has to face dangerous situations again and again.

His hobbies include collecting cigar rings, scouting, looking after his cats and solving criminal cases. He is constantly confronted with the sometimes intrusive benevolence of Miss Partridge, his order-loving housekeeper. Percy Pickwick resembles Sherlock Holmes in terms of dress in some of his adventures, and like him he always achieves his goal, but often comes close to death in the process.
